The sequel to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor has been officially announced following a retailer leak just yesterday.
Titled, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, the game will see the return of the Gondorian Ranger, Talion along with is wraith companion, Celebrimbor. Players will get to wield a newly forged ring of power against many deadly enemies including Sauron and the Nazgul, as speculated by the leak and confirmed with the announcement. The game is centered around a battle for control of Mordor with large armies and even a Balrog.
The game will also feature an expanded form of the previous game’s signature, Nemesis System along with a new kind of reactive NPCs called “Followers” whose trust and loyalty, player actions will shape. The new expanded system’s dynamism will also extend to Orcish strongholds, offering more variation and challenges to the players.
Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor was an amazing game, in fact we even loved it enough to make it our Game of The Year for 2014, however it still didn’t feel like an epic cinematic Lord Of The Rings experience and it seems from the trailer, Shadow of War aims to correct just that!
Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be releasing later this year for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 25, 2017.
