The second installment in the Mass Effect: Andromeda Gameplay Video series has been released and it explores Character Customization for both the Pathfinder and his party members.
Andromeda will feature over 300 skill upgrades and none of them will come with class restrictions. In fact, the game does away with the Class System and instead introduces the new, Profile System. Each Profile will augment one specific or a combination of the three main skill types. For example, the Soldier, Engineer and Adept profiles will each augment the skills of the Combat, Tech or Biotic skill trees respectively while the Explorer profile offers a balanced boost across all three skill trees. There are a total of 7 profiles including Sentinel, Vanguard and Infiltrator which can be selected freely at any time. The next feature introduces, Favorites which allows the Pathfinder to combine up to 4 profiles and 12 skills to be more flexible in any form of combat encounter. The Favorites wheel will consist of four slots, each of which can map 3 skills and 1 profile. These slots can be freely switched between during combat.
The final reveal of the video shows off the 6 Squad Members who will assist the player in combat. Each Squad Member will consist of 3 active and 2 passive skills which will offer both support and combo assistance. The Pathfinder can execute power combos with his squad or also position them across the battle field and order them to defend or attack a particular point. Furthermore, the Squad Members’ skills are fully customizable to fit the needs of the Pathfinder.
